For the Culture
The culture can’t be our God. If it is, it will only lead to hurt, sadness, and death in our lives. We cannot live for the culture and find our true purpose. Instead, we must live in a way that our lives worship only Jesus and what He has done for us.
Not Like us
The idol God is exposing in our lives is the idol of exclusion, prejudice, and partiality. If we favor one group of people over another based on race, class, age, or ANYTHING, we have raised ourselves up as an idol, now placing ourselves in a place where only Jesus can sit.
i pledge allegiance
Jesus is an eternal King. If America ended tomorrow, God would still be good. America could crumble in an instant, and God would remain in control.
Don’t settle! Don’t worship earthly kings when you have access to the King of all Kings.
Reflection Connection
For us, our idols are not often statues but more often strongholds. We worship sports, pleasure, entertainment, success, education, family, and many other things. Idols aren’t always carved images but are the things that have carved their spot in our lives in the place where God should be.
